Biography
Ms. Almonte grew up in Wichita, Kansas and attended Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Ms. Almonte moved to Houston to attend South Texas College of Law. While attending law school, Ms. Almonte worked for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and excelled as a varsity mock trial advocate for South Texas College of Law.
Ms. Almonte is duly admitted and licensed to practice law by the State of Texas. Ms. Almonte’s practice areas include Divorce, Child Support, Child Custody, Adoption, Guardianships, Conservatorships, and Civil Litigation. Ms. Almonte is a certified Attorney Ad Litem in suits involving Guardianship as well as matters involving Termination and Conservatorship suits filed by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).

Ms. Almonte is a member of the Houston Young Lawyers Association (HYLA), the Houston Bar Association (HBA), the Family Law Section of the Houston Bar Association, the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA), the Houston Trial Lawyers Association (HTLA), and the Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas.
Volunteer Experience
Prior to her legal career, Ms. Almonte volunteered under the children’s rights section of Public Counsel, the nation’s largest public interest law firm, where she assisted pro per litigants in understanding the guardianship and conservatorship process. For her enthusiasm and dedication to this field, Public Counsel deemed her 2003 Volunteer of the Year. Ms. Almonte remains active in the community by volunteering with Child Advocates, Inc., and accepting pro bono work through the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.
